INTRODUCTION

Bangles are the rigid bracelets which are usually made from Glass,Brass,Plastic, Metal and Wood. These are wore mostly by the women of Indian subcontinent, Southeastern asia, Arabian peninsula and Africa. It is common to see a bride wearing glass bangles at wedding in India,Pakistan,Nepal,Sri Lanka and in other Asian countries.

HISTORY

The earliest sightings of the glass bangles were found from the period of the Indus Valley Civilization. However during the medival
 period these bangles underwent a major transformation and were heavier in weight and came in all kinds of styles,cuts and colours.
Precious stones and materials such as gold,silver,diamond etc was used to adorn these bangles. Basic colours such as red green and gold were used for the brides since these were symbolised as marital status.

Glass bangles have become more fashionable and stylish in the present times. This is because of the efforts made by various designers and craftmen. Some of the most popular design involves flower motifs,pearl and stone,various colours,polka dots,strips.
